  • Finally, the time has come! Starting from January 2023, the free provision of period products at Heidelberg University will begin with a 6-month pilot phase. From now on, you will be able to get free period products at 10 toilets spread across the campus.

    The equipped toilets include:

    3 Studierendenwerk toilets:

    • Zentralmensa INF 304 Ground floor

    • Marstall Mensa

    • Triplex Mensa ground floor

    7 Heidelberg University toilets:

    Altstadt:

    • University Library MG 2 and MG3

    • Neue Universität next to HS13

    • Theoretikum INF 306 ground floor

    • University Library INF 368 ground floor

    • Faculty of Physics and Astronomy INF 227 ground floor

The feedback we receive during the pilot phase has a direct impact on the continued funding and, accordingly, the future of the project. We therefore ask you to do two things:

    1. Evaluate via the QR codes and spread the word

    2. Be reasonable with the articles

Let's take a big step towards equality together!

  • As part of the pilot phase in secondary schools in Heidelberg, we will be giving information and awareness presentations to the student councils and 6th graders at Bunsen-Gymnasium and Gregor-Mendel-Realschule. The aim is to introduce the project to the children and to educate them about menstruation, menstrual products and period poverty. In this way, we ensure that periods are de-stigmatized at an early age.

  • Since the summer vacation, three secondary schools in Heidelberg have been running a pilot phase with menstrual article dispensers in the girls' toilets. This action of the Youth Community Council Heidelberg is carried out in cooperation with us. Planning and convincing talks with the school principals have always been carried out together.

    Participating schools are:

    Willy-Hellpach-School Heidelberg

    Bunsen High School Heidelberg

    Gregor-Mendel-Realschule

  • Various presentations of Periodic Deutschland including applications among others in:

    Faculty Council Law (Heidelberg University)

  • We are happy to announce a collaboration with the youth municipal council of Heidelberg!

The following was decided upon in the meeting:

    1. Funding to provide period product dispensers at three secondary schools.

    2. Financial means to stock the dispensers over a pilot phase.

    3. A cooperation with periodic.de regarding education on the menstrual cycle and period poverty, as well as data collection via QR codes.

  • The Student Council of Heidelberg University approves our financial application. This involves the financing of a pilot phase of our project in 20 women's restrooms at Heidelberg University over six months. Since then, we have been intensively negotiating and planning the implementation of the pilot phase with the University and the Studierendenwerk Heidelberg.
